Discover Innovation In Our Campervans This Season…

Each new season of motorhomes, caravans and campervans brings new innovation. This could mean refinement of already existing systems or features – small but significant tweaks, for example, to maximise the available interior space or to improve convenience and comfort. Alternatively, it could mean new specifications added to replace outdated or less powerful ones – and even completely new ranges packed with terrific and clever features.

What it definitely means is that each season of leisure vehicles has something exciting to offer. There are certain brands which seem to thrive on continued innovation, and in this blog we’re going to highlight a couple of them that really shine.

Swift Campervans

This brand, based out of Cottingham on the outskirts of Hull (so not too far from us here at Wandahome) is coming up to an incredible sixty years in business, and has grown to become the UK’s largest manufacturer of touring caravans, motorhomes and holiday homes. It has a workforce of almost 1,500 and a turnover in excess of £300m. It’s not difficult to sit back and see why Swift is so popular and so successful. Two cases in point are the Basecamp caravan and the Select campervan.

Swift Basecamp:

  • The Swift Basecamp range is a unique, eye-catching and exciting compact caravan range which has been designed to offer customers sleek exteriors and interiors which have been cleverly designed for convenience – without compromising comfort. Available in two, four and six berth models (the Basecamp 2, Basecamp 4 and Basecamp 6).
  • The Basecamp range is packed with high specification features – including external cold water shower points (perfect for hosing yourself off after a hot day of adventuring), roof-mounted solar panels, fully kitted kitchen areas and contemporary washrooms.
  • The living space in the Basecamp range is also ‘larger than you think it would be’ for a more compact caravan. Truly, Swift has created something innovative and essential, something packed with convenience and comfort – and, dare we say it, cool. The Basecamp is perfect for couples or small families who like to get out on the road, park up somewhere exciting and go off exploring or adventuring for the day, and then return to a quality base camp. Our guess is that’s where Swift got the idea for this range’s name!

Swift Select:

  • Swift campervans have always been popular, but their appeal has widened in the last couple of decades as more and more people have latched on the notion of having a leisure vehicle which handles easily, can be driven on a standard UK driving licence, doesn’t need to be towed, and can double as an everyday vehicle. Consequently, campervan manufacturers have packed more and more innovation into each subsequent range. The Select is Swift’s exceptional offering in this area.
  • The upgraded 2023 Swift Select campervan has a new Euro 6D Final 2.2 litre engine and Lanzarote grey bodywork, so it looks cool, stylish and performs well. There’s also a 100W roof-mounted solar panel and even an external BBQ point with connection nozzle. It’s a vehicle built to help you make the most of your life on the road.
  • For the 2023 driver’s cab, there’s been an interior dashboard redesign which includes a new HD display touchscreen in a smartly thought out central area designed for smartphone holding, dual USB charging and safe cup storage. The dinette area converts into a double sleeping area, and there’s a flyscreen to the exterior sliding door, so you can keep the bugs out while you hang out. Put very simply, the Swift Select is a truly impressive vehicle.

Westfalia

Westfalia Mobil is an ever-impressive company which has become something of a trendsetter in the industry over many years. With more than 65 years of leisure vehicle experience, their vehicles offer a prestige experience. Westfalia campervans include the magically named vehicles Kepler and Amundsen, and also the following…

Westfalia Club Joker:

  • This campervan offers the opportunity to travel in style with luxury – without compromising on practicality. It’s a four-berth marvel which has been cleverly built using different materials and contrasting colours so that your perception of depth and awareness of space is increased. Though, in common with all campervans, it is relatively compact in size, the Joker’s innovative and great looking high-roof concept completely opens up the interior, offering extra head space and plenty of room for an additional double bed.
  • The Club Joker includes fully integrated swivel cab seats, so driver and front passenger can swing round (not while driving of course) to socialise with anyone else in the interior. There are also plenty of storage options, and the Club Joker kitchen comes with both floor and head height cabinets, whilst the rooflight offers ventilation. The bathroom in the Club Joker makes the most of German engineering, with a functional shower and toilet conversion. This is a great vehicle for those who are looking for manageable space and superb comfort.
